I think it is great what Lyle is doing with the Coconut Telegraph but I differentiate between local interest and current news stories. It would be different if the paper was coming out this evening, at least regarding the question load for Pepe. But there is something else about charging for timely community information, it goes against what this message board is about (at least for the most part), sharing information for the sake of community. Lyle, as editor of the paper could have posted the information as a byline, as a gift to his readers and potential readers, that would also work on his writing skills. Anyway, there was something about it that bugged me so I expressed my opinion and now we are having a discussion about it, much better than speaking my view only to selected people behind your back eh? I am open to having my opinion swayed, its not locked in stone. P.S. The Coconut Telegraph is sponsored by advertisers. |
