What's the weather like down there? Raining yet?

We're headed down in the morning, it could be a long trip.

Really coming down hard here now.

...and snowing up higher!

Yesterday the toll road from Mexico City to Toluca was closed for a while because of snowy slippery conditions: http://mexiconewsdaily.com/news/freeway-reopened-9-hour-closure/

Today on the Cihuatlan news blog ( http://canal235.com/ ) is an article saying that public access to the Nevado de Colima is closed because of heavy snow for now (this is the taller dormant volcano near the Volcan de Fuego which has been erupting lately.)

BRRR....

..and tornados, even!

The Guadalajara Reporter mentions sightings of several likely tornados yesterday, along with the crazy snow and hail and rain:

Bret! That's not what we want you to come up with! We want the big yellow thingy up there, surrounded by blue.

As La Manzanilla's head weather guy we know we can all count on you to deliver!

Please take care of this by tomorrow, Thanks!

I'm a little confused, Dan. We've got plenty of big yellow thingies surrounded by blue. Just look on the IR loop:

Or did you mean this:

Just print this out and tape it to your umbrella and you're set!

You're welcome.

(PS, safe trip tomorrow.)

LOL!

Let's get together for a beer next week. I'm a bit of an amateur meteorologist too, particularly after 3 beers.

I saw David's sunset picture from yesterday. Here it rained on and off all day, dry so far this morning but very windy and cloudy. He may be right that the storm may miss La Manz.

We're on our way in a couple of hours, can't wait!
