We have used the bypass and then stopped in El Rosario about 30 miles South. Several choices for hotels along the libre highway in town. Also an exit from the couta highway, then a couple of miles across town to the libre for lodging. To make it easier, we use the bypass at Maz, then at Villa Union we switch to the libre which takes you right past the hotels on the left. Next morning we cross town and back on the couta.
As a side note, always save the receipt from the toll booths on the couta. If involved in an accident you are covered by the highways insurance, with free towing too, But only with a receipt.
In Navajoa we stop at El Rancho just to the north of town before crossing the bridge, free breakfast with your room cost. Good for pets too.
Safe travels, Rojo212
