Robbery

A very strange awakening today. Last night we went to bed late . We lock up the downstairs bedroom with a few valuables and sleep in the upstairs bedroom with the door open for more air. At the foot of the bed is my large suit case , with extra clothing and miscellaneous stuff, and hanging on the wall are several bags with guitar and camera equipment , and a day pack. This morning, Alison got up and was making coffee when a neighbour , out walking her dog, popped in and said there was a suitcase and some suff strewn around on the road up behind our house. We retrieved the stuff , all jumbled and riffled through, to find that my money and passport were not taken. Most of my clothing and equipment were still there, but I am missing a few camera lenses and a guitar preamp( L.R. Baggs in it's box , price tag still on it ,$200.00) .In time, I may notice a few other things missing, but so far , the only clothes I am missing are a few easily recognizable tee shirts. I am very relieved that we got so much back, but we are feeling violated and want to warn others. We have stayed here for many winters now and had so little to worry about, that it is sad that we have to be more careful and suspicious. We had such a nice evening, that we are still feeling very happy to be in such a lovely town, with lots of wonderful friends. Happy New Year to all. | ------------------------Re: Robbery

Not a great way to begin the New Year; so sorry to hear of this unfortunate event Robbie and Alison. Hope that you're able to recover all your items. Hooray for your positive attitude! | ------------------------Re: Robbery

I believe that with all the in tourists in town for the holiday, crime goes up. I know someone personally who had an attempted break in last Christmas holiday, rattling doors and car locks. break in, steal, fill the drive the car away. Thieves were foiled!! | ------------------------Re: Robbery

Lo siento.... I’m glad you are ok & and have the majority of your belongings. It’s quite mysterious but love my place because of f it’s security. Your positvity after being violated is admirable... and demonstrates what living people you and Allison are. Feliz Ano 🎉mis amigos..,🎶 | ------------------------Re: Robbery

Sorry to read this Robby. Just a suggestion which is affordable are goat or cow bells tied to your doors and windows. I use bungee cords with a couple hanging from them. They don't see them in the dark and make a hell of a noise when they walk into them. Best to you both. Happy New Year. | ------------------------Re: Happy New Year

Bummer. Does not sound like a rational person did this. They didn't take the most valuable and easily carried items. And there is a history of weird bold robberies in La Ma. You'll likely talk to the Delgado and you may recover everything, unless they were tossed into the brush. | ------------------------
