I am just passing along something I was told this afternoon and would like it confirmed or shot down either from someone who can talk to Morgan or who was in attendance at the Friday meeting. It is my understanding that the request for additional funds from those who have already paid is that of a special assessment to cover additional expenses for the current period, cost of electricity, up grade of pump and other directly incurred costs. This amount is requested to be equal to this years water bill, it is NOT an 100% of the annual water bill but an amount equal to this years bill. In other words, it is for dealing with a crisis situation caused primarily by indiividuals who have failed or refused to pay their water tariff. |
In a short order, there will be a list generated and circulated to those individuals who have not paid for at least this year. This is going to be available in short order so please don't be surprised when you are approached and requested to pay. I suspect once this list is available, and should you still refuse to participate, this list will be made public for everyone to know and ask WHY?
Can someone comment on the first part of this post as to his/her understanding of what was said at the meeting.
Thank you for your assistance and please take the time to pay Morgan.
the appropriate thing to do here Erin

Is maybe ask him yourself... |
Who is the person putting "the hit list" together that told you? And, you have left out one important factor here, the Mexicans. Will the water Nazi go around town knocking on all their doors and make them pay or blame and shame and bully them too, sending them off to water prison for lack of payment on demand? Just wondering how that will work, good luck!!!
WE ARE GUESTS HERE FOLKS, it is NOT our country to regulate, just chill and pay the bill, simple!

It my understanding the list will focus solely on foreign owners who rent their homes and suites and don't pay , this is not to divide the community but to force the guests of this beautiful town to be responsible guests. |

Thank you for that information Erin. It appears that the pueblo is getting the picture! We all, including myself have in the past forgotten to pay due to the fact that there is never a bill, like in the "structured Northland". But now, we all are aware that the issue is real and that we have water bills to pay...|

I spoke to Morgan's son today, he speaks excellent English, and he confirmed to me that the double payment assessment was for the time being a single event and not a 100% increase in the cost of water; however having said that, should the need in the future to request money, that remains a possibility. He is very very happy with the response and support he has received from the community and deeply appreciates it, it has made his job considerable easy at the present time. Thank you all for those who participated. |
