Tamarindo could use their waste water to water the golf course. This is done at Las Campanas here in Santa Fe...one of the growing cities in the US with limited water resources...we're not close enough to the Rio Grande to use the water from that system so we must rely on snow runoff from the Sangre de Cristo mtns. Also you will find that incinerating toilets are cost prohibitive for the most part unless you build one from plans in Mother Earth News. Santa Fe, NM has a plumbing code that requires all toilets flush with no more than 1.6 gallons of water. I know of dual flush toilets that only use a liter of water for urine and flush with 6 liters for solid waste but they too are $$$$. There are now houses in La Manzanilla with washing machines and dishwashers...all these systems could drain to gray water cisterns for garden water supply. If you go to Home Depot in Guadalajara or Colima?? All the toilets supplied by Home Depot are 1.6 gal. flushers....Don |
