A steady but gentle rain has been falling since late yesterday - 1.1 inches yesterday and 1.63 inches so far today. There's water in the arroyo and Martin just called and said he saw two crocodillos swimming in the ocean down by Quinta Valentina so the lagoon may be open again. I'll take a drive down there today and see what's happening. The streets are pocked with deep holes filled with water and mud is everywhere, which makes it hard to get around, whether you're in a car or on foot. The current satellite photo shows widespread convection from far south of us all the way up the coast and past Puerto Vallarta. The Mexican weather site calls for heavy (Manzanillo) and intense (Puerto Vallarta) rain for the next 24 hours. The overcast is heavy enough this morning to make me believe we're in for a day with no sun and a lot more rain. It's wonderfully cool though (69F/26C) so I'm going to find a good book, sit on the lanai and watch the weather. More later............. |
