I would like to commend Daniel for the great job he is doing moderating the message board. I would also extend my sympathies to all those that have been victimized in the recent past. It is a horrific feeling of being violated that haunts any victim of violent crime. I love La Manzanilla and my wife, grandson and I hope to make this place our home in the near future. In reading of the despicable acts that have been committed against many of the visitors and residents of La Manzanilla I am compelled to drop my two cents into the fountain of public opinion. Having worked with women and children that have been victims of violent crime, it is important to create a strength of spirit that that will not bring about similar events in the future. Attitude is everything! There are also simple techniques that can be taught that will deter the largest and meanest of desperados. In training people to defend themselves from dangerous people and situations,it so often times about becoming more aware of your environment and being confident that if needed, you can put "THE HURT" on them. This is a very personal choice, whether you pull the trigger of a gun, damage someones windpipe, spray pepper spray in to someones eyes or simply run away. Those that I have had the privilege to work with have a wide range of life experiences , Some strictly military , some from private security, and other who have years of experience in training people with self defense and Combative Arts. For what ever it is worth, I'am willing to help the community of La Manzanilla to overcome this specter of offense that has plagued our little jewel of a community. |
