Nancy and Larry, It was sad to hear of Oscar's passing. We both enjoyed our visits with him and we appreciated his willingness to help us learn the game of peanuckle. His skill at the game and his memory of cards was remarkable. We will miss the stories of his early life, and his gentleness and generousity. Our hearts go out to you in this period of your grief. This poem by Rilke says so muuch. The Swan This toil and struggle--passing on, heavy And dying--this no longer grasping into the water, which received him gently, Judith Boel and George Penwarden |
