Thank you for the great video footage. It is a great concern that this is not nearly as bad as it can get with a larger storm. The diversion of the watercourse around the town is and can only be temporary. We need a long term plan to get the lower parts of town above "harms way". The little La Tigre wants to run back into the town area and will with a vengeance some day. I have worked with flood control channels for 30+ years. In the low laying estuaries flood channels only fill with sediment and always fail over time. The easiest way is to plan out a high flow relief channel. Its location is easy to fix, agreement to relocate or elevate folks is the hard part.
