We have had our FM3's for 8 years. When we wanted to bring trailer load of our stuff down we contacted the Mexican Consulate in Sacramento Ca. as we had been told we need to do. We were ready to get the paper work when I asked "Does this mean we will not have to pay or be stopped at the border?" THe answere was "they can stop you if they want and you might have to pay again." So we proceeded to Nogales with our list of stuff(no paper work form the US), stopped at the first place you can declare and had to pay $350usd we then proceeded to the second place where you get your car permits and were stopped again. We showed our papers and receipt for paying and they looked at us like "SO WHAT". We paid $50usd and were let through. This year we towed a 89'Jeep. We aready have a 89'Toyota truck and a 05" SUV. We were told by some that it would be no problem since 2 of our vechicles were over ten years old. Right before we left Cal. we were told we would have to legalize the jeep to get it into Mexico on our FM3's and pay pay pay. The happy news is that we did not have to legalize the jeep and our car and jeep were filled to the roofs with "stuff" and we were waved through with ease-go figure! |
