If you want to know about Regularization a good source is those who have completed or partially completed the process.

Sayulita is one such community, they are located in Nayarit just North of Jalisco (not sure if that makes much difference).

As you will read about half of Sayulita is regularized and they are trying to find ways to get the rest regularized. There are post which speak about the cost (not so great for some) and the process in actual experience terms.

Here are some links

In particular is this wonderful message board with real experiences.

There is one section of the board titled "local issues" which requires a user name and password to access. I recommend that you sign up so you can access this area. The issues discussed, trash, sewer, water quality etc. are almost identical to the issues we are dealing with now or will deal with in the future. It's like they are La Manzanilla 8 years from now.

The message board has a search feature, I put in the word Regularization and got these results.

It may be a good idea to find other towns in Mexico who are in the process of regularization to garner their experiences.

A good way to assemble information is to have a common place to share it as it is assimilated with links to the source. I will be happy to create such a place on this board if the desire is expressed.

Collecting data is the first step toward wisdom.
Sharing data is the first step toward community.

Happy learning,

Daniel
