From what I understand, and I haven't found the new laws that Carol mentioned; but the ejido is government-owned land. The ejidatarios, collectively, have permission to live on and use the land (as if they were tenants). BUT they do not own the land; therefore, one of them CANNOT give sell any part of the land. He is not seized of it and he cannot sell what he does not have. Using a straw man to make a contract seem legal is NOT legal, and therefore unenforceable in court. No illegal contract can be enforced. Imagine, I sue you because I sold you 10 kilos of dope, but you only paid me for five.

I will look for new laws, though.
