The best person to check with is Nan at Sea to Sierra. You can contact her through their website at www.seatosierra.com. Nan does weddings for both the Mexican and gringo/Canadian communities in the area. She is Canadian, but a licensed tour and events operator who is now a Mexican citizen with fluent Spanish, well integrated into the community. As I am sure she will share with you, there is a pretty good jazz group from Colima, but most of the cover 60s-80s groups come from Guadalajara. There are some pretty good locals as well. All depends what you want to pay. The other place you could check is with the hotel in Cuastecomates. They have been hosting some fabulous events -- weddings and such -- but whether the wedding folks arrange the bands or they do, I don't know. Sorry I don't have the hotel number with me. Anybody that is driving by the turnoff for Cuastecomates could send it to you, since they have a big billboard there. Be prepared, though, they only speak spanish. Manager has been a woman named Susan. |
