Well actually I do believe they were toads and I would not eat those legs. In French Canada they eat a lot of frogs legs. They are the size of say a small cornish hen wing. They taste like chicken and are prepared with garlic etc. Very good actually, but like snails, most don't like the idea of eating FROG. I think I eat snails for the bread and garlic butter . Once the crabs are on the move here, locals go with guns into the mangrove and shoot the big ones to eat. They would be good too but I hate them shooting them here.
