PATA Manzanillo pet calendar contest -- OPEN FOR ENTRIES!

Do you think your pet has what it takes to be a calendar pinup? Then enter your best snapshots to the 3rd annual PATA Manzanillo 2010 calendar contest! We will accept up to three (3) high resolution photo (2500 pixels by 3000 pixels works best) entries per household of either your pet(s) alone or with you at home or in and around Manzanillo, plus a brief bio (name, age, his/her story in less than 100 words -- especially of interest if it's a former street animal). If you don't have access to a digital camera but feel your pet is deserving, send us a compelling story about his/her rescue, and if selected, we will send a photographer out for a mini photoshoot of your shining star!! Example: "Two-year-old Paco is a boxer mix who lives with his owners John and Sally in Santiago, and came from humble beginnings as a taco stand dog on the main boulevard until he adopted his new family. Paco enjoys long sunset walks on the beach and chasing pelicans." Entries will be accepted until September 30, 2009 upon which time 12 will be selected to star in PATA Manzanillo's second charity calendar for 2010. We prefer new calendar pinups so spread the word among friends, neighbors and colleagues -- we want to uncover the cutest and most compelling animal shots yet. Winning submissions will receive one free calendar, and the rest will be sold to raise funds for PATA Manzanillo to host programs including: 1. Our annual free massive spay/neuter clinic in March 2010 (so far we've given FREE surgeries to more than 1,500 animals in the clinic setting) 2. Mini clinics throughout the year to spay/neuter pets and strays in outlying rural communities (this summer alone we fixed more than 150+ animals in mini clinics) 3. Educational outreach programs that see us bringing recovered street pets to classrooms around Manzanillo to raise awareness about responsible pet care among school-aged local children.
