Wal-Mart in Manzanillo sells bikes for around 1,200 pesos ($100.00). They're the same brand as in the U.S. They're also made in China, just as the one's in the States. My friend bought one from there and it fell apart after a couple of rides. Also, Commercial in Manzanillo sells bikes that are made in Mexico. I bought mine there. If you don't have a car, you could take a bus to Manzanillo. I'm sure you won't have a problem bringing one back on the bus. If you don't want a bike that rusts, you should buy an aluminum one like Paul said. However, they start at around $1,000.00US. Personally, I wouldn't want to burden someone else with buying a bike for me as you need to try it for size, etc. What if they get it you and it is too tall (or too short)? Actually, I wouldn't want to burden anyone with buying anything for me and having to schlep it here when most everything can be bought in Manzanillo, Colima, or Puerto Vallarta. |
