Mandolin should love the humidity and the strings will not. I've used coated strings with the most success, don't know if they come in 8 set mandolin strings...elixir is best brand. If you are travelling and staying as a tourist...not an FM3 resident then get a cheap instrument but have the bridge, nut worked on to get the string height that's good for you. I wouldn't travel with a good instrument unless you've got it insured. |
