Hi Jon, If you look at my post last night you'll see a missing link at the bottom which I wanted to send you last night. I spent over 2 hours finding it again (arghh) It is to a video I saw recently, part of which is on patterns and anticipation and its role in music. Here is a shortcut to that part. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0InoDh5Nuc#t=13m0s There is a great summary about cooking and taste at the beginning of the video which I recommend to anyone who likes to cook. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0InoDh5Nuc The video is titled "The future of science is art" by Jonah Lehrer. This young man (kid) is brilliant, he talks clearly and succinctly without notes. I listen to him talk about music and how it works, he states the parts of the brain and the chemicals which are responsible for the experience and it shows just how much information we have accumulated and continue to accumulate on how stuff works. Oh, one other music thing you may enjoy along the same lines about a special drum beat called the Amen Break. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SaFTm2bcac |
