It is likely that the gunfire was hunting. targeting either doves or iguana.

Usually it is large caliber pellet rifle here around La Manzanilla. These rifles are loud, similar in report to a .22 caliber rifle.

Dove are present in large numbers, as there is a ton of seed on the ground. I did see one local family out on the hunt yesterday evening, with rifle.
