How terrible that you had to experience that! For everyone's information, Mazatlan is in the state of Sinaloa. On April 27th, Bernie Lewis sent out an e-mail highlighting a warning from the US Consulate concerning the state of Sinaloa. Even consulate personnel should use armoured vehicles on well traveled roads during daylight hours in the state of Sinaloa. Further, I seem to remember an additional e-mail or posting on the La Manzanilla site indicating problems on the Sinaloa cuotas. I'll never again take Bernie's e-mails as lightly as I have in the past.
