This is extremely disturbing news for those of us that make this trip twice a year. It would appear that these very unfortunate people were "cased" from a Pemex station by a spotter who then called in the chase vehicles. This was obviously a very sophisticated operation. The PFP response is not very comforting to say the least. I wonder how many and how recent these other episodes were, and why we haven't heard about them before. Other than traveling in a caravan how in the world can you REALLY protect yourself. Makes flying back seem a lot more appealing. Not good.
