I come to La Manz a couple times a year and always get pesos in Milwaukee before I come because I had been warned that it was difficult to change $s locally. There is a bank at our airport that changes currency as a courtesy for airport patrons. The rate is cheaper than what I get at their main downtown branch. In every city, the large banks usually exchange common currencies for anyone. The rates are cheaper if you happen to be a customer of the bank. I did use the ATM in Melaque once to get pesos. I don't remember how the rate was. If you are going to use the ATM though, alert your bank before you go. They may be tempted to shut down your card for fear of fraud.
