Writing this message from Vail, Colorado, where I´ve been competing in the Teva Mountain Games. As these games attract 30,000 spectators and are shown to over 100 million viewers on T.V., they are often referred to as the outdoor sports summer olympics. I am representing what I now consider my hometown: La Manzanilla. I´ve been competing in a new venue that was added this year: stand up paddling on the river. I placed 3rd yesterday in the downriver race, which proved to be quite challenging (I fell four times during the race!). Unfortunately, the slalom race and all other river events were cancelled today due to extremely high water conditions.
