Our aquifer is not the same as Blue Bay as they draft out of an area that is seperate from us for now. Desalination is a very expensive way to get water and only the richest cities in California even think about it and only two have plants in the works. The Mexican families in La Manzanilla could not afford that water bill. The big error was to let Tamarindo share in our aquifer in the first place. Now we are stuck with that overdraft problem. Having worked on major water issues for 30 ears I can assure you there are few good choices for us. Storing roof runoff is a good way to save clean water and augment our supply though. |
