My comments on the examples 1-5 1) Yes LM related because they are seeking assistance locally. 2) Yes, LM related because they are telling people where the game can be watched. 3) Yes, LM related because we live by the ocean and it may save someone's life. 4) No, not LM related. Its a statement posed as a question. Deanna would put something on the board if it the weather was going to change and the weather is in Seattle has nothing to do with LM. 5) No, this belongs on a personal Blog. Notification can be given to the people of LM by posting in the Blog updates section. Ok, that done....I feel that #4 Rain is actually fine, but if the rules are LM only post then are all of the post about what is going on any place other than LM are off topic? Personally I would give a lot of leeway to what is on topic. I can just not click if the topic does not interest me. I would like to see even more "off topic" post, I would like to see this message board become a means for the people of LM to get to know each other better. All it takes is a little tolerance on the part of the readers. Setting up a bunch of rules as to what is on or off topic reminds me of Home Owners associations where they have a million rules governing every possible action that may upset someone, even if ever so slightly. Yet very few of the people who live in such an association are happy. They blindly think that if there is just one more regulation they will find happiness. If they were to become aware that they don't have to change the world, just their mind, they would find the happiness they seek. Happiness is not found outside the mind. Most Mexican's know this which is why they are not so concerned about the details of life but the essence....family, family, family. One of the reasons I have come to Mexico to learn how to be more general, not more specific. |
