The problem arises when people post off-topic afterwards - there's no way to know what the subject will be. I don't think anyone wants to restrict the subjects that can be posted (unless they're really offensive and only you can do that) - the ones you listed are fine, and because of the label, I can ignore them if I'm not interested in the subject - not true with responses unless the subject line is changed on the reply, in which case it would really be better to just start another thread. That may be the problem, and may be easy to fix with easy instructions about how to do it. The chance that many of these people will take the time to learn how to create their own blog is one I don't have a lot of hope for.
