Here is a message just posted on RV.Net

As we hadn't heard from some Mexican friends from Tenacatita in over a week and with sooooo many Mexican families in & around Melaque & Barra, we thought we'd go to Tenacatita for breakfast. Upon our return, we see Sparks has already made a posting, so we'll add what we learned today from strangers, friends & acquaintances in both Spanish & English.

On the road to Tenacatita, huge chain sawed trees blocked the road in 4 places beginning before La Rosa to El Rebalsito. At the second vado in town, at least 50 men, some armed, block the road and won't let us pass to the beach - even with plea's of concern for our friends. We're told the same story as in the 1970's when we sailed into the bay - the owner wants to privatize "HIS" land and the local townfolk are protesting. They claim they're waiting for the gobierno.

As we drive out, we stopped two more times, attempting to learn more. Stories are: 1) Yes, the police are evicting/extracting ALL the people from the beach; 2) the same group as Tamarindo & L.A. Locos want to develop the area; 2) Muchos Problemas for Boca & Negritos & parts of Chamela as well. Everyone we speak to used the universal Mexican symbol of the U-shaped/curled thumb to pointer finger - in other words it's ALL about the money!

Called friends in Perula and went for a visit, in addition to a few other friends & acquaintances. We learned: 1) Yes, they have heard of the gun fights and the end to the 30 year long battle; 2) No one had heard from or about the Ortega's; 3) yes, Negritos is privatized with plans for development; 4) yes rumors re: part of Chamela maybe being developed AND rumors Careyes Resort being involved.

Whilst at Perula, we also saw two gray Navy gun boats in the bay. An entourage of 21 trucks: many with polarized windows; some PGR's; Very Oddly 3 small white SAGARPA trucks were bustled together in the middle of the entourage -Coincidental???; all the while two helicopters hovered above.

On our return route, we stopped at Boca. The roadside foilage was so overgrown such that passing vehicles pause so as not to force one another paint damage. Only chickens running around at the roped off entrance to the RV Park. The tiny restaurant across the street has no idea what's happening at the park but reports: yes, many problems up & down the coast with condo & hotel developments wanting the land and UNSURE of her restaurant's future.

Stopped also at Tamarindo. Years ago you could pass thru the gate to go to the restaurant. Not Today! You're name is NOT on The List, You Do Not Pass.

Poor "200 Corridor", especially with Rancho B officially announcing 3 days ago They Will Not Be Opening.
