| DIF stands for: Sistema Nacional para el Desarrollo Integral de la Familia. National family development system. They deal with seniors (60 and over) and with children, eg, adoption. The other card is INAPAM. (I was too lazy last night to look it up.) It is the Instituto Nacional de las Personas Adultas Mayores (the National Institute of Old Fogies). Obviously it is more targeted to the over-60 crowd and offers its own set of senior discounts apart from DIF. I don't know where the nearest DIF office is, but Cihuatlan is probable. La Huerta is almost for sure. Ask at the Delegacion, they will know. |
