Driving to Mexico

My wife and I are driving to Mexico after thanksgiving this year. Given the rising crime rate in the border states, we are looking for other drivers who would be interested in forming a small caravan or group (4-5 vehicles) with the idea of traveling together to lessen the risk of becoming a target of notorious "banditos". I have made this trip several times and have become familiar with stops along the way where I feel fairly safe when spending the night. We have a p/u camper and usually leave an overnight spot early in the day and stop early enough to prepare dinner and relax for the rest of the evening. Driving at night is no longer an option I would even consider. We will enter Mexico at either Lukeville or Nogales and may possibly have an other couple at this point.
