Yes some of my neighbors are emptying the bins and bagging up the plastic and taking it to El Programa where it is stored at a ranch until people from Nayarit come to pick it up - I think they said it is bound for China, but not totally sure about that. I have never asked how much they get for it though. I am just so glad SOMEONE is actually cleaning out the containers and looking after them. They seem to be doing a pretty good job because most of the ones I have checked out are now not overflowing all over the place. The big trick is how to get people to actually USE them more. I look in people's garbages when I am walking around and most of them are full of plastic. Go figure... Linda |
