Martin's Crocodile story

Martin told me this morning, that last night about 10pm or so the dogs were barking a lot - they were barking at a croc who was out in the street in front of his place. The croc then attacked the dogs and one jumped into Martin's jeep and another ran up into the restaurant and the third ran through the yard into the lagoon. The croc ran through Martin's yard at the bottom of his steps, attacked the dog and killed him. This am the dog was still there - not eaten. He said he was going to call Protection Civil, and that there are often crocs in the street at night now. Then I talked to Viki (who sells chicken across from the kinder) she said there is a cave by Helgas house where there are croc eggs waiting to hatch, and that there are also crocs (and one big one) down by the bridge here by the school. She said it is Pancho, the big one from Boca, but who knows for sure. There is hardly any water now, but they are still around --Hunting dogs?? Seems like we have an over-abundance of them lately, and they are moving around more than they used to. I suggest really watching your dogs and using a leash if you are walking at night anywhere, and also keep them inside at night if possible. I guess if a croc was hiding in the shadows a leash might not even help??? Makes me very nervous.
