We have been sending wire transfers from our bank in Canada to Intercam, using the Swift Codes and all that nonsense, only to find there have been delays and problems many times. Our most recent transfer from BMO in Canada took 3 weeks!

A friend of ours told us he simply walks into Intercam in Melaque and writes a Canadian cheque on his Canadian bank account, and has money in Pesos the same day, often in 20 minutes.

I don't know why we didn't hear about this way of transferring money before, but thought we would post it in case other people hadn't heard about it either.
