Enrique, my grandson, just bought me a great book - it was written by Julie Catton Amezcula, (of the La Catalina Language School) and is a children's book that is also fun for adults to read. It has parallel text (Spanish and English on the same page), so I can read the English first, and then read it in Spanish to increase my comprehension without having to use a dictionary. The illustrations were done by a young girl named Isabel Levin. At the end of the story there are questions to make you think more about the theme of the story. Enrique and I read it together last night, and I have noticed him reading it over again since, so it obviously appeals to kids. Well done, Julie and Isabel! Where can people buy the book here in town? |
