Assessing the damage:
The biggest surge came up the arroyo, cleaning out all the goodies the egrets and ibis' were eating and dumping them on the other side of Helga's bridge. The surge went up onto Playa Blanca a bit. The south end of the beach lost a lot of sand; it's pretty rocky in front of restaurante Cato.
The surge by the cocodrilario took out the 'road', but it looks like you can drive around.
The rest of the beach looks great. It was swept and mopped, leaving a small bit of debris at the high water line, right at the edge of the beach.
The campgrounds were all protected by the foredune.
Restaurants are setting up their tables and umbrellas this morning, though they may be hugging the shore a bit.
We were very lucky to be able to safely observe some of nature's awesome power. Keep alert.
