Here in the Los Angeles area we dont even think about the weather as it stays the same all year. Only thing people here talk about is the 405 closed down between the 10 and the 101 for 2 days. I hear every day how people are in a great panic etc. I dont get it..... In 1994 our last big quake NOBODY told us it was coming and the 10 fry colapsed in a major section and was closed for 181 days. Life went on and you adjust. 2 days and L.A. is in a panic.. Leaving for Kauai so hell, close it 2 weeks.
