I met Kjell some years ago when I was doing computer repair. He would take me out to his boat on the little dingy so I could work on his computer. I can remember it like it was yesterday, the big Corel fish bumping into the boat while I worked. Getting to see the fine craftsmanship of the detailed replica of a model of a boat he was commissioned to make. It was a pleasure and a unique experience to be allowed to enter his world. He traveled the world in that boat and out of all the places he visited he chose to make La Manzanilla his home. That always carried a lot of weight with me, being one who has not traveled that much. I figured if he found La Manzanilla to be such a rare Jewell then I would just take his word for it and save myself the time of traveling. Looks like he picked a good time to drop anchor. He got a few good years in of being settled down, and was fortunate to have friends like Jane, Joe and Dan (and others I am not mentioning) living next door so as to create a really nice environment. I didn't hang out with Kjell that much but did have the blessing of his kind and gentle manner appearing in my life from time to time. I thank him for that and hold the highest vision of him in my mind. Thank you Kjell, I will miss our conversations. |
