Dentists in La Manzanilla

I am thrilled to report that I recently found our own La Manzanilla dentist a gem, for a number of reasons. First and foremost, the less I leave the village, the happier I am. Second and equally important, he has a very gentle touch. Other benefits for me are as follows. He was amenable to turning on the AC and pointing the fan at me . . . muy importante in the off season, and especially this past week! He has one of those fancy pants cameras to instantaneously show you what's in your mouth. He can converse on dental matters and instructions in English. His prices are very reasonable. Last week, he cleaned my teeth for 400 pesos. As I've been remiss to get my teeth cleaned for several years, he also found 11 teeth with cavities (yikes . . . I am an idiot!) Over the course of 3 visits, he did fillings on all, for 350 pesos per tooth. They are non-mercury fillings, and are predicted to last 8-10 years. He also does crowns, bridges, and root canals. I didn't ask the price for those things, but imagine they are reasonable too. He and his wife are both dentists and share their practice in LM. They are a young couple, and received their degrees from the U. of Guadalajara. He works on adults, she on children. He said he worked from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m in LM last Jan-Mar. They are thinking about adding a second chair so they could both work on clients simultaneously during those months, when the service demand spikes thanks to LM's part time gringo residents and visitors on dental holidays. As a year-round resident, I'm planning on twice annual cleanings outside those months, when their practice is far less occupied.
