Orchid Tree

The Orchid tree was a tree hugger's delight! All you had to do was pass by and it would drop a fragrant blossom of joy. The family who lived beneath it are sure going to miss it. I wonder if that type of tree grows back from it's centre like my plum tree. Anybody know? If not, I'm going to buy a baby orchid tree and plant it there. Daniel, your idea of using it's lovely wood reminds me of the Kootenays in the 1970's where the community used all the wood from one tree, (including the branches for salt & pepper shakers and buttons), to demonstrate value-added local craftsmanship as opposed to that tree going off to the mill or the dump as is the fate of the Orchid Tree. The Kootenay tree made over $70,000 when the wooden-crafted products were sold! |
