This was not a PAID clean-up. Gilberto Rodriguez, the director of Festival del Mar, organized this. The message he sent to the community: Our livelihood is tourism, lets show our visitors a clean town, when they arrive. He also organized several beach clean ups, which we participated in. They were business owners and the people of Melaque, San Patricio, etc. that did the cleaning. The presidente of Cihuatlan briefly showed up for a photo op.
