Oh Marcia - that is awful! And the robberies! I remember last year, a young man and his father caught 2 robbers in the act of robbing them. If anyone knows for sure who it is (and is not making false accusations), what can be done?
I am reminded of the First Nations Restorative Justice system whereby the criminal and victim are brought together and the criminals get to hear how their actions have hurt the victim and the larger community. They then have to apologize and do something to restore goodwill in the community. If the Mexican justice system is not working, perhaps it is time for a different approach. It could be an opportunity for dialogue that would benefit the whole community. Any thoughts?
