Responding off board certainly makes sense from a business position but also creates what may be interpreted as a us against them scenario and that is not the way it is. I know this is about business, but in business its called price fixing and that is illegal. If this dialog is seen as a being gringo against Mexican it is called prejudice. In light of there being more than one way to interpret this discussion I would prefer to see all dialog in the open. When it comes to paying those who work for me I pay them what I think they are worth. If they give me great service without any grief then I pay them according to my value system and financial ability. Mary's original post brings up issues which must be taken into account. If I Pay a worker $xx pesos per hour or day and it turns out that there are $xx more in other charges then I have to add those together to see if it stays within the realm of my value of worth and budget. That would mean I pay less to the person doing the actual work because I have to pay other charges. |
