I can see what you mean, Jon. How about the benefactor approach?

Maybe there is someone out there who can afford to buy it, who would love the way it is being used,(if they knew about it) and would buy it just to make sure it continues being used this way indefinitely. That person or group or agency could hold the property until they needed to sell it (maybe never) Call me a dreamer if you like - I don't mind.

Would the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation be interested? Are there other environmental organizations that might be able to buy it?

In reality, it would probably be more realistic if some individual, who knows the ins and outs of the ejido system, could be that benefactor. I have heard that there are millionaires among us - how about it?
