| I just wrote a whole response but lost it. Our insurance for our house in La Manzanilla is pretty comprehensive and not, in my opinion, expensive. It is through a particular broker, Parker Berg, on Lake Chapala. They have changed the insurance provider each year the last two years due to changes in coverage or pricing on either side. We have very comprehensive coverage and the reps have a 20-year track record in Chapala. E-mail me or Google them and check them out. If you have a palapa, most banks, dicen que, don't provide insurance at all. We are covered for fire, theft, tsunami, earthquake, flooding, etc. The price is reasonable in our opinion (for us, about $550 USD/year). They have a 20-year history on Lake Chapala and are very trustworthy. Good luck. |
