Over the years I've gone to Thrift stores up in the states and have gotten beautiful machines for $25-$35 and brought them down for friends. Singer, White and Brother are all good machines and the older ones are very simple to repair. IF you have room and are driving think about picking one up. And if you find a pet carrier you can put the machine inside of it-a double donation. The airlines might allow you to call it baggage.
