The plant will stop burning oil this year. Regarding the conversion taking years and 6,000 workers. Well the first 3 units out of 6 are converted and it only took 6 - 9 months. So the remaining 3 units won't take quite as long.

The big construction project is what is called TEC II which is the port expansion. They are building a specialized container terminal on the west side of the harbor that will have the capacity for 3 container ships. This project will be ongoing for a couple of years.

The simplest way to keep up with this stuff is to get in the habit of reading El Correo daily.
