Last week we flew back to Canada to escape Semana Santas. We are enjoying endless days of stillness, quiet and serenity, renewing some lost karma. We will continue to enjoy Mexico, the people and our home in La Manzanilla every year, but we will never again experience Semana Santas or the rodeo. We'll simply leave. To feel "powerless" and "abused" is an awful experience. Personally, I believe that we do have a right to express our feelings about this -in a respectful, calm manner. Being tortured by successive nights of unreasonably loud noise has nothing to do with an "oh well, that's Mexico". It's not about "gringo values". It's about the universal respect for one's neighbour. It's about reasonable behaviour as a citizen of the earth.
