Pat and Lew;
Am so sorry to hear of your discomfort and our hearts go out to you and your guests. I have been very thankful that we have no guests with us at this time. I am so sorry your family/friends are getting this impression of our wonderful village as it is not the true picture of Mexico nor of La Manzanilla . This is not our normal Samanta Saunta at all – the last couple of years that I have been here the celebration has been so pleasant. It is so wonderful watching all these families having such fun on the beach -- and as we drift off to sleep listening to their music as they play (even though loud) on the beach around bonfires makes us smile and enjoy the culture here. That is not happening this year, no singing outside on the beach, and I feel it is because they cannot compete with the loud blasting music.
Two of the three last nights we have went down to the bar to ask them to lower the volume and it amazed us that the first night there were only two gringos there. Last night there was one gringo and one Mexican and that is so sad. If this was the Easter celebration of Mexico and this was the music that the Mexicans wanted it would have been crowded.
It has also offended the other local Mexican owned restaurants as they have been so kind over the years to listen to the village and lower the volume as needed. Needless to say they are also upset with what is happening.
Again we are sad that you are experiencing this with your company and maybe the music will lower to a level that does not vibrate the whole village so all can enjoy.
