Carol I do not know what Mexico has for the Epi Auto Injectors(Eppi pens). You can purchase glass viles of over the counter Epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) at most Parmacias, ( for about 100 pesos) But you must know how to administer it with a needle/ syringe you draw up from the glass vial bottle. AS for scorpion stings... the Anti venom is different than Epinephrine, The Alacran antidote can also be purchased from some pharmicies and it costs between 600 to 800 pesos. ( Which you must also draw up into a syringe and inject by needle ) Thier is definatly a difference between either of the two, as the Alacran antidote is specific for scorpion stings. ( Most Centro de Salud should also have this antidote ready in stock for such emergencies. ) As Kimberly mentioned, having some Fast acting Liquid Benadrill , Caplets or Mexican equivaliant, is a prudent first line of defense to allergic reactions. Perhaps Asking a Medical Dr and / or Pharmisist will help solve your concern. |
