I made it back to Canada with the 2 kittens and they are now with a forever family in Victoria. It was hard to let them go after being with me for 2 months, but a joy to know they are loved and cared for the rest of their lives. Besides which I realized that I can do this again next year: bring home animals that need adapting!
I just read an article by Cesar Millan on the film "Saving the Satos - street dogs" http://www.cesarsway.com/news-and-events/cesars-blog/Saving-the-Satos-Stray-Dogs
Stephanie: if you need books to read to the kids, I left my Dog Whisperer book in Spanish with Alejandra (daughter of Gustavo and Ramona). She was an absolute joy to walk dogs with and sometimes her cousins Janet and Javier would join us with their dogs. It had been a dream of mine to read aloud the book to all ages in La Manzanilla. Many thanks to Julie and all the Cisco Amigo volunteers that have truly made a difference for our animal friends. Education is the key and Jose Rodrigues is an incredible example of someone who "gets it" - he brought in 35 dogs from Arroyo Seco ranches. I wrote to Cesar inviting him down for next year's clinic, so here's hoping....???? Viva les perros de amor de La Manzanilla!
